The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) and Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) Gold Coast Chapter present the Investing in Women in Resources Breakfast.
The event will be hosted by television presenter Christina Morrissy, and the keynote speaker is Lydia Gentle OAM, awarded Queensland’s Exceptional Woman in Resources 2022.
Lydia Gentle OAM is a Chartered Engineer and the Maintenance Manager at BHP’s Peak Downs Mine, with more than 15 years’ industry experience spanning the engineering consultancy, construction and mining industries across multiple continents. Lydia is an Order of Australia Medal recipient and the youngest Australian to receive Engineering Executive status with Engineers Australia, highlighting Lydia's leadership skills and contribution to the resources profession. With a passion for a diverse and inclusive workforce, she has a particular focus on training the next generation to ensure a balanced pipeline of talent to the resources sector through educational programs and initiatives.
Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to connecting, nurturing, and supporting women to achieve their goals within the Queensland Mining and Resources sector and to influence improvements in gender diversity and inclusion outcomes through our thought leadership reference group.
